What is a soil test for building?

A soil test for building is a soil classification that explains to the structural engineer and the building surveyor what type of soil class you site, so that the engineer may design the footings of your house accordingly.

What is a soil test report?

This is a soil test report that classifies your site under the relevant Australia Standard. Your site may be an A, S, M, H1, H2, or P class site and lets the engineer know how reactive your site, along with finding an allowable bearing pressure.

What is a Bushfire Attack Level Report?

A Bushfire Attack Level report is an assessment of your site, analyzing the threat of a bushfire attack, as per the Building Code of Australia, and assessed under the Australian Standards. Not all properties are Bushfire Attack Level prone, as it is only applicable in some areas.

How long does it take?

Once payment has been received, we will contact you within 3-7 days to organise a convenient time to gain access to the property, and conduct the site works.

How / when will i receive my soiltest and reports?

We will normally email you a copy of the reports to your inbox within 3-4 days from the day of site works.

What happens if my property has limited access?

We have spcialist tools and equipment available to enable us to conduct the required testing. Some tools include hand augers andsmaller type utes.

What happens if I have a tenant?

That's fine, just provide us with either your tenant's or managing agent's contact details and we will co-ordinate the site works with them directly. We only ask that you advise them to expect our call.

How will i know where the levels have been taken from?

We normally take the levels from a Temporary Bench Mark (TBM) that will not be affected during construction. These TBM's may include a Telstra pit, boundary pegs, even kerb and channels.

How long is the soil test valid for?

Unless the Australian Standards change, then they are valid for some time. but please check with your structural engineer and building surveyor as to how far back they will accept the soil test and reports.

What if i need further works?

Simple, just contact us directly and we will be happy to come out again. We can even come out on site to verrify the founding depths if required.
